Meeting blog friends, Rainbows and Stitching!

A quick post to show you who I got to finally meet this past Friday night...

Jolene and me with stitch group.  My SIL was suppose to take this picture of our faces, not me scrunching down like this!
This is my dear blog friend Jolene and I.  We have been trying to get together for several months, and finally our paths crossed, and I was able to get my stitch group together on a night she could come up.  It was so fun to meet Jolene, FINALLY.  She is a doll.  We hope to do this a lot more often!
As you know from Jolene's blog, that she is very generous with her thoughtful gifts.  She surprised everyone with a  little gift of unique scissors and a beautiful scissor fob.  She made our night!

A beautiful and thoughtful gift from Jolene
She had this cute cork on the end of the scissors, to protect them from punching through the tissue paper.  Teresa (Lower Left) reminded us of the movie "Dirty Rotten Scandrals".  The part with Ruprect having a cork on the end of his fork, so he wouldn't poke his eye out...well, we couldn't help demonstrating how useful the cork will be for us!  No one will be poking their eyes out with this ingenious little addition.
Later in the evening it started raining, and we had this beautiful double rainbow.  It was great to sit out and watch it, but it did get too cold to stitch, and we ended up going in the house.  :(

I got my Bent Creek wedding row back from the framers.  I opted to leave the heart buttons off, as they made it look more valentiney, and  I want to leave this up all year.  Sort of a "silent sermon" to my family members of my love for them.
Finally, I have been cleaning out some things in my sewing room, and came upon these.  I decided to show you the sewing accessories I designed for a retreat that I did in Park City several years ago with Cynthia Zittel from the Drawn Thread.  These classes were taught three different years, and eventually I wanted to complete a shaker box to put these in.   Unfortunately, the store that held the retreats went out of business and that ended all the fun.
A photo of the back sides.  I never published these designs, but have thought about doing it in the future, when time comes my way again...LOL!

That's all for now.  Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you have a great week with lots of stitching!

How cool that you got to get together with Jolene and have a stitching day! And that rainbow -- how beautiful! I love your Bent Creek piece -- beautiful frame! Jolene is amazing always making things for others. And those pieces you designed -- I'll be first in line if you ever release them in chart form! They're wonderful!!! You are one talented lady! Now we know where your daughter's talent comes from. :D

How much fun is that meeting up with Jolene. I'm glad that everything finally worked out so that you could see each other. I think the double rainbow at the end of the day is so fitting. Looks like you had a wonderful time.

Wish I was coming out to the SB retreat so I could meet all of you, but maybe one of these days!!

And I definitely think you should release a chart of your goodies. I'd be the first in line to purchase them. I love them!

What a great picture of you and Jolene! You're both so cute I can't hardly stand it! I can't wait to come out there! Your home looks beautiful and I would so love to sit and stitch with you out there! The rainbow was a wonderful touch!
The gift from Jolene was so sweet and generous. Doesn't surprise me a bit!
I LOVE your stitching set!!!! Truly gorgeous. I have an idea - you should teach the class - send the patterns/kits to our group (for a very high price) and then our guild will fly you out to teach the class!!! How fun would that be?

I love that set but am afraid it is a bit beyond my finishing skills....

Can't wait to see you, gf!!

What a great picture of you and Jolene and how very fun that you were able to get together. And how generous of Jolene to bring goodies for everyone.

Love the view from your deck and that rainbow, spectacular.

Great framed piece and I love your designed set. I'll be third in line - behind Margaret and Deb.

Enjoy your day.

I was so delighted that you invited me to your stitching group. I had a marvelous time, great food, friendship, stitching, and chocolate!! Your home is beautiful and so tastefully decorated. Can I come back real soon?

Look at all those little designs, simply fabulous! You should definitely "someday" put your designs in print.

Enjoy your scissors my friend, smiles....

Wow what fun that must have been ! I was hoping we could go to Utah this summer and get to SB but sounds like the plan is to go to San Diego and road trip around there. We loved Utah when we were there two yrs ago . Beautiful around Moab.( think that's the correct spelling) So wonderful you met up with Jolene! Yes do release a chart of those wonderful goodies!
